16 July 2025

The City of Cape Town’s Urban Mobility Directorate would like to advise members of the public of roadworks along both the inbound and outbound carriageways of Nelson Mandela Boulevard between Hertzog Boulevard and Father John Oliver footbridge, in Foreshore. The work commenced this morning at 09:00 and is scheduled to end at 16:00 today, 16 July 2025.

‘I am pleased to announce that this project is coming to an end. Today the City’s Road Infrastructure Management team will apply new line markings on Nelson Mandela Boulevard, between Hertzog Boulevard and Father John Oliver footbridge to improve road safety and visibility. To facilitate the work, partial lane closures may be in place and motorists are advised to plan their journeys accordingly or use alternative routes where possible to minimise delays,’ said the City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Urban Mobility, Councillor Rob Quintas.

The City would like to thank road users for their patience and cooperation during the course of this work that aims to improve the road network, ensure safer and more efficient travel while supporting economic growth.
